The Production Company’s Nice Work If You Can Get It

The Production Company’s second show of 2015 is an Australian premier of a show which recently took Broadway by storm. Nice Work If You Can Get It takes the audience back to the era of prohibition – when swing dancing was a risqué activity – with love triangles, extravagant dance routines and a S’Wonderful musical score. This production with its stunning cast is only playing for ten performances at Arts Centre Melbourne’s State Theatre.

Nice Work If You Can Get It takes the well-known tunes of George & Ira Gershwin and gives them new life in a world of guns, gangsters, girls and glamour. Starring Rohan Browne as a wealthy and handsome playboy, Esther Hannaford as a feisty but beautiful bootlegger and Christie Whelan-Browne as the finest interpreter of modern dance in the world, these talented Australian performers lead this madcap comedy. They are supported by an all-star Australian cast including Gina Riley, John Wood, Nicki Wendt, George Kapiniaris, Tony Farrell, Monica Swayne and Jensen Overend as well an impressive ensemble featuring Zoe Coppinger, Stefanie De Castro, Nicholas Eaton, Alex Given, Matt Hamilton, David Hammond, Jessica Lindon, Justine Puy,Victoria Rimington, Joseph SimonsMichelle Smitheram and Darren Tyler.

Nice Work If You Can Get It opens tomorrow night and is only at the State Theatre until August 23rd. Make sure you secure your tickets before you have to turn to some bootleggers to get you inside the theatre! Visit artscentremelbourne.com.au for tickets and more information.
