CATS is prowling closer to Australia!

The acclaimed West End revival of CATS is prowling closer to the Australian stage. Today, the doors were opened as the cast prepared for the New Zealand season ahead of opening in Sydney on October 30th and Melbourne from December 18th. Performing both the opening number and the finale to Act 1, Sophia Ragavelas took on the coveted role of Grizabella which she will be performing in New Zealand before passing it onto Australia’s very own Delta Goodrem.

CATS Rehearsal

This revival of CATS has been reworked for the stage bringing the classic musical to a new generation. It still features one of the most well-known songs of all time, Memory, but the famous Rum Tum Tugger role has been reinvented for a modern audience. Originally based on the Rock ’n’ Roll icon Mick Jagger, Rum Tum Tugger is now modelled on the rapping music legends dominating the pop music scene with new rapping additions and some serious breakdancing moves.

This Australian production stars Delta Goodrem as Grizabella alongside an incredibly talented Australian cast featuring Daniel Assetta, James Cooper, Andrew Dunne, Matt Edwards, Christopher Favaloro, Keanu Gonzalez, Ross Hannaford, Sam Hooper, Thomas Johansson, Tobias Madden, Matt McFarlane, Stephen Morgante, Brent Osborne, Josh Piterman, Taylor Scanlan, Jason Wasley, Patrick Whitbread, Amy Berrisford, Madeline Cain, Emma Delmenico, Dominique Hamilton, Ashleigh Hauschild, Jade Hui-Wen Coutts, Erin James, Emily Keane, Sarah Landy, Bree Langridge, Holly Meegan, Samantha Morley and Stephanie Silcock.
