Violet is on its way to Melbourne!
Violet is the latest show to come out of Sydney’s innovative Hayes Theatre. And after wowing Sydney audiences, Blue Saint Productions have announced they will be bringing this production to Melbourne’s Chapel off Chapel from March 3-20, 2016.
Violet follows the story of a young woman who travels across America searching for divine intervention to heal a disfiguring physical scar from her childhood. But is it the physical scar that needs healing or is it an emotional scar? This moving journey-based show from Tony-award winning composer Jeanine Tesori features show stopping numbers from bluegrass to soul and gospel and is still riding acclaim from the recent New York production starring Sutton Foster, Colin Donnell and Joshua Henry.
This show is the latest in exciting musical theatre productions taking the Australian theatre industry by storm following in the steps of Heathers and Sweet Charity. Directed by Mitchell Butel in his directorial debut, Violet stars Samantha Dodemaide (Anything Goes, Sweet Charity), Steve Danielsen (Wicked, Legally Blonde), Barry Conrad (X Factor), Damien Bermingham (Chicago, Strictly Ballroom), Katie Elle-Reeve (Hair), Ryan Gonzalez (Strictly Ballroom, Legally Blonde) and introducing Luisa Scrofani as Young Violet.
“If you care (or are even curious) about the future of the musical in Australia, you should book a ticket before it sells out its short run.” – Limelight Magazine
This production will have a limited run at Chapel off Chapel from the March 3-20 next year and tickets go on sale Monday 14th December from www.violetthemusical.com.au. You won’t want to miss out on this stunning production so make sure you get in quickly. And with Christmas around the corner, it is the perfect excuse to buy a couple of tickets as a present for a friend . . . or even for yourself!
