Funny Girl

Funny Girl is coming back in fashion. A new West End production has just opened and there are rumours about an upcoming Broadway revival, but Melbourne is next with a reimagined show led by director Gale Edwards and leading star Caroline O’Connor who is currently performing in a Broadway-tryout production of Anastasia to critical acclaim.

David Hobson and Nancye Hayes as Nick Arnstein and Mrs. Brice, respectively, have already been announced for the Melbourne production, so who will be treading the boards alongside them?

Joining them will be David Ross Paterson (Florenz Ziegfeld), Greg Stone, Susan-ann Walker, Luke Alleva, Judith Roberts, Blake Appelqvist, Daniel Assetta, Jared Bryan, Danielle Evrat, Sam Hooper, Sophia Katos, Adam Noviello, Max Patterson, Callum Sandercock, Suzanne Steele, Andrea Arena, Amy Berrisford, Sage Douglas, Ashleigh Hauschild, Laura Inglesi, Kiara Kieser, Cassie O’Brien, John Reed, Priscilla Stavrou and Brooke Synnot creating a massive cast of thirty performers and an orchestra of twenty-seven.

Alongside award-winning director Gale Edwards rounding out the incredible creative team is Musical Director Anthony Gabriele, choreographer Kelley Abbey, costume designs by Tim Chapel and set designs by Shaun Gurton.

This classic Broadway musical is one not to be missed in Melbourne this year with an all-star cast and a string of memorable hits including People and Don’t Rain on My Parade.
