The Play That Goes Wrong
The Cornley Polytechnic Drama Society are attempting to put on a 1920s murder mystery. The operative word being ‘attempting’. As the title of this new show set to open at Melbourne’s Comedy Theatre suggests, everything that can go wrong . . . does, as the accident-prone thespians battle on against the odds to get to their final curtain call.
Currently entering their final few weeks of rehearsals, the talented Melbourne cast – which includes Brooke Satchwell, Darcy Brown, Francine Cain, Adam Dunn, Luke Joslin, George Kemp, Jordan Prosser, Nick Simpson-Deeks, Tammy Weller and James Marlowe – is putting the finishing touches on the first Australian season on The Play That Goes Wrong.
Described as Fawlty Towers meets Noises Off, this hopelessly hilarious spoof will open at the Comedy Theatre on February 22nd before travelling to Adelaide and around the country. And if audiences can be guaranteed one thing for every show in this run, it is that the play will definitely go wrong!
