You’ve Got A Friend

In 1971, the incredible musical force that is Carole King was simply the keyboard player in James Taylor’s band when he decided that she needed to stop supporting those in the spotlight and take up her rightful position at the front of the stage. It was at that moment which Carole King was born going on to release her acclaimed album Tapestry later that year.

Nikki Nicholls has followed a similar path to the iconic Carole King. Having toured Australia and beyond supporting some of the best artists in the music business, including John Farnham, Australian Crawl, Suzi Quatro, Richard Clapton, Kylie Minogue and Stevie Wonder, now Nikki is stepping into the spotlight herself to bring King’s story to life in a one night only show at The Palms at Crown, You’ve Got A Friend.

You’ve Got A Friend features Carole’s musical creations for herself as well as the enduring songs she wrote for other artists including The Beatles’ ‘Chains’, The Drifters’ ‘Up on the Roof’, Herman’s Hermits’ ‘I’m into Something Good’ and many more.

Joining Nikki onstage will be Steve Wade from Little River Band bringing a touch of James Taylor with some of his most loved songs ‘How Sweet It Is’, ‘Carolina On My Mind’ and ‘Steamroller Blues’. And both these artists will be supported by the rocking King’s Rule including Adrian Scott (Air Supply & Kylie Minogue), Steve Wade (Little River Band) Eric McCuster (Mondo Rock) Rick Petropoulos (The Ferrets and Motivators) and Fallon Williams 111 (Steve Marriott’s Humble Pie).

“Carole King’s life so far has certainly been a tapestry of rich and royal hue, and I feel extremely blessed to be able to present a collection of her amazing, legendary songs that were the soundtrack to our lives” says Nikki.

You’ve Got A Friend is playing The Palms at Crown for one night this Friday 3 March. Don’t miss the story of this incredible musical legend live on stage. For more information and to buy tickets, click here.
