Cabaret: Full Cast Announced

Following a sell-out season at Sydney’s Hayes Theatre, Cabaret is coming to Melbourne in the little used (and perfectly chosen) Athenaeum Theatre from April 27 for a strictly limited season of 4 weeks.

Cabaret is one of the musical standards which has stood the test of time. Following initial seasons in on Broadway and in London’s West End starring the likes of Joel Grey and Judi Dench, it was a revival of this classic work by New York’s Roundabout Theatre which thrust the Brechtian show back into the limelight under the careful eye of Alan Cumming as the infamous Emcee. This production recently brought Cabaret back to the front of the musical theatre world in a revival of that famed production again featuring Alan Cumming and a rotating suite of leading ladies opposite him as the iconic Sally Bowles including Michelle Williams and Emma Stone.

As Cabaret returns to the public consciousness, so does the production to Australia. Fresh from a sell out season in Sydney, this show will be returning to Melbourne at The Athenaeum Theatre – a theatre that is rarely used for commercial musicals, but completely sets the scene for Cabaret. Reprising their star-turns from Sydney will be Paul Capsis as Emcee, Kate Fitzpatrick as Fräulein Schneider, Debora Krizak as Fräulein Kost, John O’May as Herr Schultz, Jason Kos as Clifford Bradshaw and Australia leading lady Chelsea Gibb as Sally Bowles who brings down the house with the musical theatre anthem ‘Maybe This Time’. Joining this cast for the Melbourne season will be Angelique Cassimatis as Helga and Michael Cormick as Ernst Ludwig.

Cabaret returns to Melbourne from 27 April for a strictly limited four weeks only. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit
